The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Partners invite educational institutions and individuals to submit funding requests for projects involving applied research (IELTS). The total amount of financial support for each of the chosen projects is £45,000 (AU$ 80,000). 2022 IELTS joint-funding research program

Every application will be handled privately. The review committee's judgment is binding. Academics and groups with experience in language learning and assessment are encouraging proposals. The invitation is extended to institutions and individuals to submit written applications that follow the formatting and content requirements (10 pages maximum, unbound).
IELTS Research Areas of Interest
In this area, research would focus on:
1. Studies on the necessary language proficiency for IELTS-required fields (such as academic study, immigration, and employment)
2. IELTS General Training research tests in reading and writing Studies on the characteristics of the IELTS writing and speaking proficiency levels
Exam preparation techniques
1. studies on how taking the IELTS affects different stakeholders
2. Studies examining the connection between test-taking performance and test-preparation techniques (including those that take into account the needs of particular student populations)
3. Studies examining the difficulties associated with test preparation in unfavorable conditions
4. Studies examining the effects of various forms of preparation have compared test-focused preparation to EAP study courses that are not test-focused.
5. Studies looking into how learning a language and preparing for the IELTS test (including honing skills that may be useful beyond the test) relate to one another
Concerns with regard to test contexts;
1. IELTS studies for academic study, immigration, citizenship, professional registration, exit testing, and employment
2. Studies on how to use IELTS and IELTS scores in particular local contexts
3. Studies to determine the appropriate IELTS score ranges for a variety of situations
Impact of test issues;
1. Studies on test takers' attitudes and perceptions of the IELTS among test users (such as teachers, admissions staff, and others)
2. Studies on the effects of Covid-19 on how IELTS test scores are used and how test takers perceive IELTS test scores
3. Studies examining how test takers use their test results to inform future learning and instruction
4. studies on the language assessment of test takers' literacy and/or the efficacy of strategies aiming to foster this
5. Research on how interactive communication functions in the IELTS Speaking or Writing tests and how it affects candidates' ability to communicate in training or study situations
6. Studies on the use of IELTS test scores, test preparation, and other social impacts
