International passport

An international passport, also known as a passport, is a travel document issued by a country's government to its citizens that allows them to travel internationally. It serves as proof of identity and citizenship and contains important information such as the holder's name, date of birth, photograph, and signature.

An international passport is necessary for travel to most countries around the world. It typically includes information about the holder's nationality, as well as a unique identification number. The passport is stamped with information about the holder's entry and exit from different countries, and it also contains visa information if the traveler is required to obtain a visa to enter a particular country.

To obtain an international passport, individuals must apply for one from their government. The requirements and application process vary by country but typically involve providing proof of citizenship and identity, as well as submitting a photograph and paying a fee. It is important to check the expiration date of your passport and renew it before it expires, as some countries require a passport to be valid for a certain length of time before allowing entry.

How to apply for a Nigeria passport

To apply for a Nigerian passport, you will need to follow these steps:

1.    Visit the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) official website and create an account.

2.    Log in to your account and select the type of passport you want to apply for (Standard e-Passport or Official e-Passport).

3.    Complete the application form with accurate information, and ensure that you upload a recent passport photograph of yourself.

4.    Pay the appropriate fee online using a valid credit/debit card.

5.    After making payment, print out the payment confirmation slip and application form.

6.    Book an appointment for biometric data capture at the passport office.

7.    Attend the appointment at the passport office with your printed application form, payment confirmation slip, and other required documents such as your birth certificate, national ID card, and other relevant documents.

8.    After your biometric data has been captured, you will be given an acknowledgment slip as evidence of your application.

9.    You can then track the progress of your application online using the reference number on your acknowledgment slip.

10. Once your passport is ready, you will receive a notification to come and collect it at the passport office.

It is important to note that the application process and requirements may vary depending on the type of passport you are applying for and your individual circumstances. It is also important to know that immigration officers do not really want applicants to apply via online means, as doing so will make the passport availability longer than supposed.

You will therefore need technical support to get your passport within three weeks and in four steps;

1. Fill out a form

2. Make payment

3. Go for capturing

4. Collect your booklet.
